Forever Optimizer Companion

A small addon that reads your own character in game and gives you a text to paste here. It never connects to the internet and never sends anything anywhere.

The companion is a standard WoW addon containing game-readable addon files only. It does not install a program or run outside WoW.

The SHA-256 lets you check the file wasn't damaged or swapped on the way. It's a fingerprint, not a guarantee — only install addons from sources you trust.

2. Find your AddOns folder

It's usually here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns

Can't find it? Open the Battle.net launcher, pick WoW Forever, click the gear icon next to Play, then "Show in Explorer" (or "Show in Finder"). Open Interface, then AddOns. If there's no AddOns folder, create one.

3. Unzip it there

Unzip the download into AddOns. You should end up with:

AddOns/ForeverOptimizer/ForeverOptimizer.toc

Common mistake: a doubled folder like AddOns/ForeverOptimizer/ForeverOptimizer/… — if you see that, move the inner folder up one level.

4. Check it's working

Start (or restart) the game. On the character screen, click AddOns and make sure Forever Optimizer Companion is ticked. If it says "out of date", tick "Load out of date AddOns". In game, type /fopt check — you should see "Forever Optimizer is working".

5. Export and paste

Type /fopt, press Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on Mac), then come back and click Import from addon.

On the character screen, click AddOns. Is Forever Optimizer Companion in the list?

About the Companion Addon

What it reads: Your character's name, level, class, race and faction; talent points; equipped gear; bags; profession skills; base stats; completed quests and the progress of your active quests.
What it doesn't read: Your password, Battle.net account, chats, friends, gold, bank or other players' information.
Does it connect to the internet?: No. WoW addons can't, and this one doesn't try.
Does it automate gameplay?: No. It only reads and shows a text when you type /fopt.
Discovery sharing (optional): Off by default. Type /fopt share on and the addon also notes item, creature, quest and zone numbers for gear you loot, get from quests or see at vendors. On the website you tick Contribute discoveries to send just those numbers — never your name or character. /fopt share off turns it off and deletes what was recorded.
What gets sent?: Nothing automatically. You copy the text yourself and paste it here. The website checks it on your device and keeps it in this browser only.
Can I inspect the addon?: Yes. The download holds exactly these files, all plain text: Core.lua, ForeverOptimizer.toc. Open them in any text editor.
